1 Month Surgery Follow-Up

I had my 1 month follow-up with my surgeon. He said I'm right on track! He said it will be normal to lose an average of about 25 pounds a month for the kind of surgery I've had. I used to have a pinching feeling when I would get full, but I no longer have that. He said I had that because everything was still pretty swollen, so it would pinch when I was getting too full. But now, I actually get a full feeling! I've only thrown up once from overeating, and it wasn't even like a normal kind of throwing up that I would do before. It was just - I kept burping up my food, and I had to get rid of it or else keep being miserable and re-swallowing my food (which I know is gross! TMI!). Other than that incident, I've been able to keep everything else down. I hope you all are doing well!

Feeling AMAZING After Surgery!

Weeeeell... you might get tired of seeing my face, but the more confident I get, the more I will probably post selfies... Feeling good after my doctor visit the other day! My surgeon said I'm doing fantastic and because it doesn't look like I have any complications, I can go ahead and move on to soft foods. I was hoping to be a little less than I was for my first visit, but he said he thinks my numbers are great. I was just wanting to hit a milestone lol (I'm not posting my numbers on purpose because I'm just not comfortable sharing them publicly.)

Alright, so now I am 1 week and 4 days after surgery - I am starting to feel amazing! I have the feeling back in my hand now (It also helps that I started seeing a chiropractor for it), it's easy to breathe again, my headaches are gone, it no longer feels like there's a weight on my chest, I'm no longer tender in my abdomen as if I had done too many sit-ups, and I feel energized. Sometimes I get weak and low (when my blood pressure or blood sugar fluctuate too much) but most of the time, I'm great!  I'm taking my vitamins like I'm supposed to, and I've been on soft foods.

There was one incident at a birthday party recently where I felt sick to my stomach and very weak, but I think it's because I was late taking my vitamins that day, and I wasn't used to eating bread yet. I don't think I was SUPPOSED to be eating bread yet, but I had tried bread with a hotdog for the birthday BBQ. Either way, I've been feeling great other than that.

I'm HANGRY!

Today makes 1 week since my surgery, and let me tell you - I am HUNGRY! I don't know how some people say they aren't hungry afterwards. I cannot wait for my appointment with my surgeon tomorrow to get the clearance for soft foods because I need some cottage cheese! The only difference this time around is that I won't be eating as much as I used to, which was always my problem. My portion sizes were huge and this time I won't be able to eat but a few bites. I was also never one of those people who ate because of feeling depressed or sad. I ate because food tastes good. My Mom was always such a good cook, which was a skill passed onto me. When I'd get sick and can't taste anything, I would hardly eat at all. Why? Because it was tasteless! The food wouldn't taste good when my sense of taste was absent. Anyway, I can't wait to see what my weight is tomorrow. Wish me luck!
