I'm Feeling Very Pregnant

I felt sick today. I haven't really been feeling bad with this pregnancy. I don't know if it's from work, from breathing in the plastic fumes, or if it's a pregnancy thing, but I'm assuming I should blame it on the pregnancy  lol

I had to take a tylenol because if you didn't know this, ibuprofen isn't supposed to be taken by pregnant women. It causes stomach bleeding and ulcers. So... I'm assuming tylenol doesn't??? Anyway, besides feeling crummy, the night was decent. I got home and my Mom made me dinner. Taking care of her baby and her grandbaby ♥

Help Comes to Those Who Need It

I liked my job a little better today. Last week was a struggle, but this time I had the day shift leader tech training me, and he was a HUGE help! I was able to do most of my own work, and I feel proud. It's easier to follow instructs and know what to do when the person training you actually speaks like they're supposed to. I'm drained... but proud :-) Life knew I was having trouble, and they sent a little help my way. Maybe there is still hope for this job?

When I got home, I stayed up until 4:00 AM to wake Adam up for work. While I waited for 4 AM to roll around, I made a baby registry at Target, but I only got halfway done. Once again, I know I'm going overboard, but there's so much to choose from, and I'm not picky. No one will probably buy anything on the registry anyway, but just in case, it's there for them to take a look. It's probably a good thing people don't actually go out and buy this stuff, or the baby would be so spoiled! LOL

Marriage Troubles

Today, we went over to Adam's friend Buddy and his wife Julie's house. It was their son Gabriel's 2nd birthday. Buddy's family came over and they cooked a nice dinner. The conversation turned awkward though as his father Larry started joking inappropriately about women's personal parts and the sounds they can make. This caused Buddy's mom Kandy to get really embarrassed and upset, and they had words. Buddy and Adam told me they get into big fights like this... You sometimes hear older couples on movies and TV shows go back and forth with insults, but this got pretty rough. I never grew up with a dad, so I don't know - are relationships supposed to be like this? I'd hope not... Anyway, we left at 7:00 so I could get home and not miss watching Charmed this week.

I Started a Baby Gift Registry

Today we went swimming at the Perry Park Center. I really didn't want to go because Adam's friend Amy was going to be there, but I told my friend Mary that I would be there. However, just as my luck goes, Mary wasn't able to make it. Afterwards, we went shopping at WalMart, and I created a baby gift registry! But I'm pretty sure I went overboard  LOL  There are just SO MANY adorable things I want to get for the little peanut! We also went ahead and bought a few things. I got a baby book to put all of these great memories in! When we got home, Adam ordered pizza. I didn't think this day was going to go so well, but I think it ended nicely!

Those Magical Pregnancy Moments

We had another doctor's appointment today, and it went well. Such a beautiful baby! We had an ultrasound done today, and we could see the baby's feet wiggle, and the hand was flexing. It seemed like it was so mellow! Must be a satisfied baby :-)

The only downside was that we couldn't tell what it's gender was. I think it had the umbilical cord between it's legs? So we couldn't get a good look. But to think... this little miracle is living and growing within me. It's such an emotional journey, and such a magical moment. I'm in love with this baby already!

The Grass Isn't Always Greener...

I really thought this was the job I wanted. I was soooo excited to get it! I thought to myself - Hey! If I could work in building 3, maybe I'll get hired on! Then I could get insurance and so many benefits! This will be awesome! But there's a hard, thick line between what we want, and what we get... The grass isn't always greener on the other side, my friends.

As of right now, it's only my 3rd night here, and I hate it. The guy training me mumbles and talks so low and quietly that I can't hear him. Then when I'm constantly asking what he said, he gets frustrated with me like it's my fault for his bad speaking habits! AND I'm breathing in plastic the whole time. This can NOT be good for me or the baby. I'm seriously thinking of requesting another transfer. We'll have to see how it goes...

It's a job...

Not sure what I think of this job yet. It seems easy as far as operations go, but I'm just sooooo sore right now, and I get really, really tired. I'm assuming it's because I'm pregnant so it's to be expected, but I feel drained, and It's only my second night here. It's also a factory job, so I know it's not meant to be physically easy.

I learned how to run the rest of the machines, but they seem like they don't really want to spend much time training me. I hardly think one day of training is enough, but I'm new so I'm in no place to tell them how to do their jobs, you know? Or maybe they don't want me to get good at it and get hired on because then they'll feel like their jobs are in jeopardy? Who knows... All I know is I'm getting paid for being here, and that's what's important right now.

Don't Smash the Baby!

I was able to get a release from my doctor today to take the worksteps assessment program. I think it went well, though my lungs are sore and my body aches with tiredness. They really put you through quite a challenge just for a job! There was hella cardio going on, with a lot of bending, lunges, stair-stepping, and holding my arms up for a long period of time. Who needs a gym workout? Just do the worksteps thing. That'll get you going!

There was only one thing I couldn't do in the program. They wanted me to lay on my stomach and see how many times I could lift weights with my legs. Being pregnant, they didn't want me to smash the baby. And to be honest? If they wanted me to try to do that one, I don't think I would have agreed to it. I know I need a job to take care of my child, but NO job is worth hurting the baby.

I started my new position at work. It's not bad! The machines do most of the work. I only trained on 3 of them so far. One of the machines takes little pellets of plastic and melts them, and then molds them into the shape of buttons for the car. My brother is also a forklift driver here, so I get to see him around every so often.

Hitting the Bottle Again

I got up early today to take the Worksteps thing for my new job. Worksteps is a screening program at the hospital that has you do a series of physical tests to see if you are able and capable enough to function as needed for the particular job that you are applying for. However, they sent me home and told me that because I am pregnant, I would have to get a release from my doctor.

Since I had the night off, I decided to clean the room and worked on my first custom-made onesie for the baby! I'm using a picture of Happy Bunny that says "hitting the bottle again". It was SUPPOSED to look like something like this:
I used an iron-on transfer to print out an image like this, and I was trying to put it on a plain white onesie. However, I got the iron too hot and the image came out with a yellow, almost brown-looking tinge to it. My first try was not successful, but at least I'll know better next time. You always get better at things through the means of experience!

    Baby's First Outfit!

Today we went to the mall in Cape Girardeau with Adam's friend Buddy, his wife Julie, and their son Gabriel. When we went to Hot Topic, I found a Jack Skellington onesie from Nightmare Before Christmas that I bought for the baby. It has thick black and white stripes across it with Jack's face in the middle. It's the very first outfit we've been able to buy for the baby!

I also bought a purple stocking with so fancy fairy art on it, trimmed with black fur for Christmas next year. Afterwards, we went to Walmart and bought some more stuff, but it wasn't anything important. I missed watching Charmed tonight, but at least I gots some stuffs!

My First Time at China Buffet

Today me and Adam went swimming at the Perry Park Center with Adam's friends Buddy, his wife Julie, and their son Gabriel. Afterwards, we went to eat at a place here in town called China Buffet. OMGods, that place ROCKS!!! I also got to meet Buddy's sister Peggy who works as a waitress there. I got sooooo stuffed. I want to go back again! It was so delicious, and they have plenty of shrimp there as well! (I read that shrimp is good for pregnant women to eat for the baby's developing brain). It was a great day. Baby's happy :-) LOL

    Injection Molding

My employer (Kelly Services) called me today and said I was going to be in building 3! That's exactly what I wanted. I'm hoping I'll be able to get hired on as an employee for the factory (TG MO) and then I'll be able to get benefits, hopefully before the baby comes. I'll be doing injection molding, and I'll need to do this thing called "worksteps" when Monday comes around.

Worksteps is kind of a test they put you through to see if you are physically able to do the job. I shouldn't have any problems, but we'll see what they want me to do with being pregnant. Tonight was my last night, but I'm soooo happy and excited! Building 3! Yay! It's Friday! Yay!

    Job (de)Termination

I found out my job was being discontinued today (working quality control, to inspect air bags). I don't know why they would get rid of quality control for something as important as air bags, but it is what it is... I talked to my supervisors, but they don't know what's going on (so they say). I'll have until tomorrow to find out and do something about it. If I get moved, I hope it's to building 3! Why building 3? Because then maybe I'll have a chance of getting hired on!

    Sky High Movie

Today was better at work. Maybe because I had 11 hours of sleep? Or maybe because I'm getting used to it again? Either way, I'm thankful that I wasn't in as much pain, though it was still hard. Am I just weak, or is this a pregnancy thing?

Anyway, before work, I went to go pick up the rest of my pregnancy vitamins, but I still wasn't able to. This time, there was an elderly lady in the way, taking her sweet time, and confused even though the pharmacists were doing the best they could to help her out. However, I had to get to work so I couldn't wait around. I left.

When I got home, I watched the movie Sky High. It was AWESOME! They even had a pretty redhead with plant powers! I'll definitely have to buy that movie. Of course me liking the brooding guys, I thought Warren Peace was hot. Stuff like this makes me miss the role play board I played on though, based off of the X-Men. I think if we have a girl, I'd very much like to name her after my main character of myself, Tricity. Anyway, I highly recommend that movie!

Injuries - The Second Days are the Hardest

If I thought yesterday was hard at work, then today was HELL! I was in so much pain, I wanted to cry. Have you ever noticed that when you get hurt or have sore muscles, that it always seems to hurt worse on the second day? The first day isn't that bad. The wounds are fresh. The muscles are exhausted. But after a day passes, they're still suffering from injury as well as working hard to heal, therefore making the pain worse. Anyway, that's just my observations.

Before work, I got up early to go get my pregnancy vitamins. They were running short, so they told me to come back tomorrow to pick up the rest of my 25, so I only got half of them for now. After work, I was so worn out that I ate, watched South Park, took a shower, and went to bed.

They Weren't Kidding! (Pregnancy and Peeing)

I went back to work today, and BOY was it ROUGH! I had to get used to standing on my feet for a long while all over again. And it seems like I'm off to the bathroom every hour. They were NOT kidding when they said pregnant women pee all the time. And here I thought I had a pretty strong bladder... LOL I got dirty looks from my supervisor Melba, though. She's just going to have to understand that I can't hold it in. She had even come into the bathroom at one point and told me to stop taking so many pee breaks.

I went home after work and ate. Then I took a shower and went to bed. Sometimes I wish I had more to do than just work, eat, and sleep all the time, but I'm just so tired lately...

    Happy New Year - 2006

    Happy New Year!

Well when I finally woke up today (didn't get much sleep, as I went to bed around 6:00 AM) we were supposed to go to Adam's step-Mom's house for a barbecue, but just like with Pop's last night - we stayed at Teddy's house and didn't do much of anything. I'm sensing a trend here that I don't much like...

I mean, it's nice hearing them talk about stories from when the were growing up and all, and I'm glad to be able to meet his family, but usually when someone comes up with plans, I expect them to follow through, not change their minds at the last minute, or cancel them on me. I've never liked that, and if this continues, I can't see us getting along very well...  :-\

They finally brought us home and I spent some alone time with Adam before sleeping some more. It wasn't a very exciting New Year's Day, but I hope you all have a good one, and stay safe! No resolutions, as usual...
