Another Day in the Mad House

Today, I was called a "stupid cow" which although it isn't exactly nice, it's nicer than what I was called yesterday...

We didn't get to go to the cookie kickoff for Girl Scouts. Tricity didn't want to go, and I wasn't going to make her. And of course Adam never wants to go to anything...

I did some cleaning today. That's pretty much all I've done today. If I had done anything else, I can only imagine that backlash I'd have gotten from it...

Words Hurt

Today I got called some vulgarities because I was defending my 9 year old nice. Apparently if she doesn't get along with her younger siblings, then that automatically means she wishes they were dead? I don't think so! And you don't say those kinds of things to a 9 year old child! It was horrible... So because I was sticking up for her, then suddenly I'm a bad guy as well. I can not WAIT to get out of this house! It's a mad house... I hate it here :-(

Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor

Today, I helped my Mom get some files off of her computer so that she could reboot her laptop. She had a virus that kept making it restart.

We also went to the hospital to see the ear, nose, and throat specialist that Tricity was supposed to see about her tonsils being so huge, but we didn't get to see anyone. They wanted $145 up front, which we don't have. Especially right after Christmas. She still got to miss school though, which she was happy about.

We also had to do some shopping, and I did the dishes. I also had to console Tricity today after she was told "Don't talk to me, I'm not happy with you". Poor baby got her heart broke. I don't know exactly what happened, but apparently she said or did something to Mom. It's times like this when I can't wait to find a place and move out of here... :-(

Cookie Sales Begin!

We had a Girl Scout's meeting tonight, and we got the order forms for cookie sales. Here we go... Big cookie sales! Here's where we spend gobs and gobs of money for gobs and gobs of cookies to help Tricity get all of her badges. The leaders were being kind of snotty about it tonight, though. Sometimes I wish we had a different troop to join, but Tricity loves it so much. It also makes it harder to leave when her best friend is in it...

Tricity had school today. It was the first day back! I'm missing her already.

New Year, New Beginnings

It was another lazy day today. I had a lot of photos to put up today for the "every day is a holiday" thing I'm trying to do, though. Today was the Point of Perihelion, which is the day when the Earth was closest to the sun. In other words, our winter festivities have pleased the Gods, so they shall continue to give us light :-p LOL

Anyway, I need to start cleaning and packing. This is the year that we need to find our own place to move into. It's not exactly been the best of times having to stay with my Mom and Brother. Of course we're thankful, but having so many people in one house can get pretty crazy. Everyone is on a power trip, and if I try to stay in the room or keep to myself on the computer, I get yelled at for being lazy.

It'll be so nice to get out and get a place of our own! I have so many plans. I want to make a "family tree" wall, which will have a silhouette of a tree on the wall, and pictures of all our closest family members hanging on the branches :-)

I also want to see about getting recycling bins so we can start recycling our trash instead of throwing it all away. Recycling has always been important to me, and I couldn't really do that at the trailer park. I'm hoping with a house, it should be possible :-D I just wonder how much it's going to cost?

New Year's Day - 2013

I got a planner and have started writing a bit of my day down on each page. Maybe later (like on September 20, 2016) I'll take these little bits of writing and make them into journal entries on my blog :-p LOL

Today was a lazy day. I don't remember much about what happened. I know it was pretty outside and dry. I also started my "every day is a holiday" photos today.

Today's holidays include New Year's Day! Happy New Year!
It also includes First-Footer's Day (part of Hogmanay)
It's also the 8th Day of Christmas, national Bloody Mary day, global family day, buffet day, day of peace, and a day of no school! LOL

New Year's Eve Tradition

Something I've been doing ever since I spent a New Year's Eve with my best friend Tahnee and her family is have salmon and sparkling grape juice on New Year's Eve to bring in luck for the new year. I've never really been one to support superstitions, but this had always been a rather tasty one, and if it really worked, then why not give it a try?

I really never remembered very well exactly what the tradition was supposed to be. I thought it was salmon and wine? Or some kind of fish... Whatever it was, I have adopted this practice and have made it my own for me and my family over the years. I have salmon as my fish of choice because they way I make it is the tastiest, and I choose sparking grape juice because I'd prefer not to drink wine.

Tonight, me and Tricity stayed up all night counting down to the new year with the TV shows. Of course I had salmon and sparking grape juice, and I've been getting her into this tradition as well. She only had a little bit, though. She's not much a fan of it right now, so it seems. I pretty much ate the rest. Adam was in the back room, sleeping, and Mom fell asleep on the love seat.

It was just me and Tricity. She's my little buddy! I am SO LUCKY to have her ♥ I also worked on a resolutions list, but I failed already. LOL Anyways, I just wanted to share a bit of my tradition with you. I wish you guys the best, and hope for an amazing, healthy, happy, safe, prosperous new year!

New Year's Eve

Happy New Year's Eve, everybody! I'll be celebrating tonight with my baby girl. We're going to stay up to watch the ball drop, have salmon and sparkling grape juice, and give each other a big ole' smooch when the clock strikes twelve. Have fun, ya'll, and most importantly? BE SAFE!  xoxox

And for my Scottish friends (not that I'm lucky enough to have any in person yet):

Chocolates, Nuts, and Magazines

It's the fall season, and the Girl Scouts troop is selling chocolates, nuts, and magazines! Tricity has been lucky to sell some chocolates and nuts, but unfortunately, she's not doing so well in magazine sales... No one has bought any from her online page! I've been trying to keep her spirits high, though, and have been passing around the link through my Facebook group, my personal Facebook page, my Twitter, and now, even on here. All we need is for 3 people to buy a magazine, and she can get a prize.

The best deals to find are on the "View All Categories" page, and from there, you click on "Combos". They have a year each of Better Homes & Gardens, and Ladies' Home Journal, all for just $16! Or they have a year each of Teen Vogue and Seventeen, all for just $18! Excellent deals, right?  :-)

Anyway, here's what her seller's page says:

Hello, my name is Tricity Craft and I'm selling items for Girl Scouts, and
 need your help!
You can be the one to do that by making a purchase from
me.

Looking for a gift for the holidays? Stuck on what to give to someone you care about? I'm selling chocolates and nuts! Milk chocolate peanut butter bears, chocolate covered pretzels, whole cashews, dulce de leche, deluxe pecan clusters, mint treasures and so much more! Help yourself these holidays by helping me.

So be a good role model and help me out, so that I may learn how to help others.

So please, PLEASE make a purchase BEFORE Thursday November 12th of 2012! I know it's only 3 days away, but we would super duper appreciate it! Just 3 magazine orders is all we need for her to get a prize. This is her first time selling, please don't let her down!

Long Time, No Post

My poor neglected blog... *pet-pets*

While my Facebook group has been thriving, my blog has suffered... I see the whole "10 cool things" idea went right out the window. Maybe I can reboot that and try again?  :-D

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I've been TRYING and TRYING to get videos made! My laptop has been giving me such fits, and my husband's computer doesn't have what I need to get them done. My laptop will only stay connected to the internet for about a minute, and then it's like it gets congested and won't go anywhere else, so I have to shut down my browser, restart it, and use the internet for about another minute. It gets so frustrating! And now, it keeps telling me that my memory is low, and shuts my programs down on me, so if I don't save my progress in time, I lose my work...

Other than that, I just wanted to update the blog. It's been lonely, I'm sure... My daughter has strep throat right now, and she was supposed to go to the dentist today and get 2 more teeth pulled. (I know, I know... you haven't even seen the first two teeth gone yet, have you?) She missed the Veteran's Day parade with her Girl Scout troop yesterday, so that means no badge :-(  but her health is more important. She's at school today, but that's because she's no longer contagious, and she acts like she's fine.

There's a couple of other things to mention, but I'll put them in separate blog entries, like her selling items, and my calendar. Let's see... what else happened lately? We went to the fire station's open house, there was the pumpkin patch thing, and Thursday will be the campfire thing... There was also a lot of Girl Scouts events that went on, but I'm not allowed to share those videos publicly, as per the troop leaders... I'm doing my best to fix everything up, so please bear with me.
